Eating out

If you fancy relaxing by the water while looking at beautiful boats, houses and even a castle, the Ship and Trades is the place to go.

One of the jewels in brewery Shepherd Neame's crown, The Ship & Trades is a spacious and stylish pub with restaurant and accommodation overlooking the award-winning marina. Dating from 1875, the Ship and Trade's basic structure is a steel frame that housed dockyard offices and an engineering shop. Today, the building has been totally transformed. There is a choice of bars, including the Havengore Bar, named after the vessel moored close by that carried the coffin of Winston Churchill along the Thames. The upstairs level has marvellous views across the Medway towards Upnor Castle and there is also extensive outside seating areas to enjoy the view across to St Mary’s Island and the marina. With extensive daytime and evening menus the Ship & Trades brings a combination of excellent food, drink and accommodation (11 en-suite bedrooms) to businesses and local residents. A lift is available for easy wheelchair access to both floors. Business breakfasts, lunches and dinner menus can be pre-booked by fax or Email.

The Ship and Trades now has Wireless Broadband Internet Connectivity.
