Fishing village

Fishing village

Designed by architects PCKO to incorporate the very latest thinking in sustainable development, these 94 houses and apartments of 164 planned have been built on the North side of St Mary's Island on a 7.4 acre (2.99 ha) site. Some homes include solar panels and rainwater harvesting facilities and have been built of timber farmed from sustainable forests. The whole scheme has achieved an ecohomes rating of 'good' and has been constructed in a modern interpretation of the Kentish vernacular.

Most of the units in the Fishing Village have balconies and terraces enabling residents to take advantage of the outstanding views across the river.
