Universities at Medway - The PartnersMid-Kent CollegeMid-Kent College is Kent's largest college of higher and further education, providing one of the biggest ranges of learning and training services in the South East, at centres in Rochester, Chatham and Maidstone. The College currently has around 7,000 students. In 2005 Medway Council granted planning permission for Mid-Kent College to build and relocate to £77m purpose-built facilities in Gillingham, adjacent to the Universities at Medway site and the Royal School of Military Engineering. The Colleges' current Medway sites will be sold to help finance the relocation. The proposed new campus is currently one of the biggest capital schemes in the education sector in the country and an essential part of the plans to deliver increased participation in further and higher education in Medway. The college remains committed to the Maidstone site.
