Universities at Medway - The PartnersUniversity of Greenwich at MedwayThe University of Greenwich first established a campus in Medway in 1994. Today it offers a range of courses including science, engineering, natural resources, business, computing and nursing. Nearly one third of the student population are postgraduates and around 800 are from overseas. Experts at the Centre for Sports and Exercise Science, formally opened in 2003, are now working with the next generation of Olympic hopefuls and the University has been appointed as a centre for the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme. The University also has an extensive portfolio of research and consultancy services, with major regional, national and international clients. Projects include nuclear magnetic resonance testing, researching methods of crop protection for the developing world and testing the concrete panels used for the Channel Tunnel Rail Link. The University also has extensive involvement with the local community through student volunteering and mentoring schemes, as well as schemes to share the skills of students and graduates with businesses in the region. The University also has campuses at Maritime Greenwich and Avery Hill, both in South East London, and a conference and training centre at Kings Hill, near West Malling in Kent.
