Canterbury Christ Church University at Medway

The first Canterbury Christ Church students started their studies in Medway in 2004. Based in Rowan Williams Court, students are on a range of professional programmes, such as teacher training, policing and health and social care, who will go on to make a key contribution to the services and infrastructure in the Thames Gateway. By 2008, it is anticipated there will be 1,800 full-time equivalent students.

Rowan Williams Court was leased from SEEDA and the University spent £5m to custom-design the building for the teaching of students. It now has a mix of general teaching psace, specialist facilities for nursing and midwifery, an intentive care unit and extensive x-ray facilities.

It is regularly used by organisations such as Medway Council, the Small Business Federation and Rochester Police.
