Chatham Maritime

Sustainability

When SEEDA began its transformation of Chatham Maritime it wanted to continue to create a truly mixed use community – not just somewhere with housing, but somewhere that offered residents everything they could possibly need to live their lives.

Sustainability is at the core of Chatham Maritime, from providing both private and social housing, education facilities, community facilities office space and leisure opportunities.

On top of that huge efforts have been made to ensure there are plenty of green spaces for adults and children to enjoy, and that homes are as kind to the environment as possible. Public transport is also easily accessible in a bid to encourage residents not always use their cars.
